The internet has opened a way for information to be shared around the world at one time through a computer or a mobile device. The internet has also made it possible to have online guitar lessons. You can sit on your home computer or on a mobile device and do online guitar lessons.
This was not the case when I started learning how to play the guitar some 30 years ago. I started learning how to play the guitar with the help of a book. It was not easy to find a VHS tape teaching guitar lessons or a DVD. The book was the means to learn how to play the guitar.
The only way that made me improve my play was using the turn table to play vinyl records of bands I liked. Unfortunately, caring of vinyl records was not easy due to the way they were designed.
They were easily damaged if exposed to the heat or you drop it accidentally. The worst was when the stylus would damage the groves because you played the same song over and over.
Later, came the video tapes. At that time they were alright but the problem was how to access the part where you wanted to repeat the tape. The only way was to rewind the tape.
I remember this day when I kept rewinding the tape, it got twisted and jammed. I could not get the tape out easily. I ended up damaging the VCR while I pulled the tape out.
It did not take long, came the DVD. My first DVD lessons was Blues for beginners! I enjoyed myself learning through the DVD because it was easier to access the lessons compared to the video tapes.
With the advent of the internet, many websites teach guitar online. In my opinion, the only website that has the best lessons from a beginner to an advance player is the Guitar Lesson Lounge. I wished we had these online lessons long ago the time I was learning how to play the guitar. I would have avoided lots of bad habits that I developed while learning how to play the guitar.

I remembered those cassette tapes, they are the pain in the butt and when your tape messed it up, it was the worst, you gotta fix it all over and it takes time. I have 3 guitars at home, 2 of them are my husband and one is mine. I just can never find them to practice it. Now it is the time, no more excuses. Thank you for sharing Guitar Lesson Lounge. I totally agree with you during the earlier days its very cumbersome and difficult to learn guitar lessons if done via VHS, Tapes. Today it is indeed easier to learn since everything is very efficient with the advent of the internet. Growing up, i always wanted to get involved in music and one of the instruments i love was the guitar. The guitar can be such a soothing instrument and it can awaken deep feelings inside a person. This is absolutely great considering my wife and I were just talking about this the other day. We do a lot of camping and it would be great to learn a little about playing guitar.I mean we just want to learn enough to play songs around the campfire on those long summer nights.I believe something like this can get us where we want to be.thank you for taking the time to write this and let us know that something like this is available.Dale

That is really true about learning guitar way back then! I remember going to my guitar lesson and we have books and music notebooks, no vhs nor you tubes. It was painful for me that was why i did not pursue it.
Then came along all these videos. We have two boys and they learned how to play guitar thru youtube (we`re glad we did not have to pay for lessons! lol!)
