I can not write much about Fender Stratocaster guitars without mentioning the legendary Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy. They are the Fender Guitar Players! The guitar was like an extension of their brains!
One thing Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townshend had in common, they both smashed their Fender Strat guitars on stage at the end of the show.
Jimi Hendrix’s Fender Stratocaster was unique. He was left handed and his guitar was also designed for a left handed musician. All these guitars were expensive were smashed at the end of the concert as part of the show!
Imagine smashing a Pete Townshend Fender Stratocaster. I guess back then it was cool to end the show in that fashion. It was part of the gimmick. It may have been fun, but t the end of the day, the band had to think of buying new guitar for Pete.
Stevie Ray Vaughan never smashed the Strat. His guitars looked like they were used guitars that had been used for a long time. Just by looking at the body of the guitar, You could tell that the guitar had done its time but never gave up on them.

There is something about music that makes the world go round for me.
The most amazing thing happens when I watch someone talented. I never cease to enjoy a good musical show. Jimi Hendrix was in a class of his own.
There is another musician that I like who really fascinates me – it is Bob Dylan. It’s not about his guitar playing or voice but he extends something through his music.
Thank you for this site. I sure will enjoy coming here and reading what you write.

It seems we have the same taste of music. I love Bob Dylan too. He is my favorite musician. Just reading his lyrics will tell how brilliant he is when it comes to communicating thru his songs.
You know the songs “All Along the Watchtower” performed by Jimi Hendrix and “Make Me Feel My Love” performed by Garth Brooks and later by Adele were composed by Bob Dylan. Beautiful Songs.
